Because of the grant I received from Doing Good Works, I did not have to choose between paying my electricity bill and buying textbooks for school. I even have $100 extra dollars that I can save.I want to empower people to decide thingsfor themselves and be who they want to berather than who they are told to be. I try tobe empowering in my interactions withpeople all the time and the work that I wantto do is fundamentally about giving peoplethe opportunity to speak and be heard.Personal growth and development is positivelyimpacted by a caring adult other than the youth’sparents.*- ISAACProts support college programs serving the foster community as well as the Stronger Together Fund for COVID-19 pandemic relief. STRONGER TOGETHER FUND RECIPIENT$46K+ CASH DONATIONS1884 YOUTH IMPACTED

...Whether it was coming with me to themechanic or dealing with my emotionsand seasons in my life [my mentor] wasalways there. She just really wanted tobe there through it all — the crises andthe happy times. It made my will to livegreater on a day to day basis — whichmay sound a lil’ funny but is true.Young adults with a mentor are more likelyto overcome adversity than those who donot have a mentor. *Doing Good Works came into my life atthe perfect time and when I really neededit. I was nervous at the end of my collegejourney, and they stepped in so gracefullyand gave me opportunities that I wouldnot have at another company.Of the 20,000 young people who transition outof foster care annually, 50% are unemployedby age 24 and 28% experience homelessness.*- JOLENE- SUNNY250HRS OF MENTORING2664EMPLOYMENT HRS
